Advice for driving in harsh conditions

Following this week’s thunderstorms, AA Roadwatch has given advice to drivers should they be caught heavy showers again.

Road accidents aren’t uncommon in harsh conditions, with lack of visibility being a key factor. It is important to keep your wipers and headlights switched on.

Another common cause for crashes in wet weather are slippery road surfaces. To combat this problem, it is imperative that you slow down. This will provide more braking distance and increase your view of the road.
